Published by HarperCollins Canada, my first book looks at the liberal church's heritage of contemporary scholarship and challenges the church to practice what it has been teaching, if not preaching, for the last several decades.  As Christianity continues to face a barrage of challenges from contemporary findings of science, psychology, anthropology, archaeology, and other disciplines, it can do one of three things--sink into the fractious fundamentalism that threatens our planet and our species on so many levels; slide into irrelevance and become a curiosity marketed primarily by the tourist industry; or step into a new incarnation of its former self, this one grounded in spiritually inclusive, life-enhancing values that build on the best of what church has been in the past.
